How do I create a family?

The person who creates the family is automatically assigned the parent role.

How do family members join?

New members join as children by default. A parent can promote members to the parent role in Settings.

What's the difference between parent and child roles?

Parents can create and assign chores, approve completions, manage the reward store, change member roles, and access all family settings.

Children can view the family calendar, mark chores as done (pending parent approval), request rewards, and participate in family messaging.

How do chores work?

Parents create chores and assign them to family members. Chores can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or be one-time tasks. When a child completes a chore, they mark it done — then a parent verifies it. Verified chores earn stars that can be spent in the reward store.

How does the reward system work?

Parents set up a reward store with items like screen time, treats, or custom rewards — each with a star cost. Children earn stars by completing verified chores, then request rewards when they have enough stars. Parents approve or decline requests.

Can I share shopping lists in real time?

Yes. Shopping and to-do lists sync instantly across all family members' devices. Anyone in the family can add items, check them off, or assign them to specific members.

How do I plan a family trip?

Open the Trips tab (Premium feature) to create a trip with dates and destination. You can add flights, hotels, activities, packing lists, and track expenses — all shared with your family. Weather forecasts are included to help you pack.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Data isn't syncing between devices

• Check that all devices have an internet connection
• Make sure everyone is signed into the same family group
• Try closing and reopening the app
• Check that the app is up to date in the App Store

I'm not receiving notifications

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password" to receive a password reset email. If you signed in with Apple, use the Sign in with Apple button — no password is needed.

How do I delete my account?

To request account deletion, email support@slaterapplications.com from the email address associated with your account. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
